PIs and Co-PIs have to reconcile grant year finances with their institution's business office which may operate on a different fiscal year calendar. It can be confusing. This Excel-based accounting tool is a "step-chart" that shows how to track and account for grant year expenses that spill into another fiscal year. This was taken from my actual Local System Change (LSC) budget expenses from 1998 to 2003.
MS-Excel spreadsheets may be opened with Microsoft Excel as many other spreadsheet applications.
